concert pianist & Chamber musician
A “lively and eloquent” pianist (Diapason) with a “jubilatory and orchestral” play (Classica), Christian Chamorel is one of the very few French-speaking Swiss pianists whose influence goes beyond the country's borders. His commitment to the lied and chamber music makes him a highly sought-after artistic partner. Audiences of all kind always welcome his communication skills and generosity.
„The piano part was as imposing as the pianist was masterly.“
Christian Chamorel performs in prestigious festivals (Menuhin Festival in Switzerland, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Klavierfestival Ruhr in Germany, Musicales du Golfe, Lisztomanias, Music Festival of Menton in France) and venues (NCPA of Beijing, Musashino Hall in Tokyo, Berlin's Konzerthaus, Munich's Prinzregententheater, Zurich Tonhalle, London's Wigmore Hall, Geneva's Victoria Hall.)
Christian Chamorel is a prizewinner of several international competitions ("Gian Battista Viotti" in Vercelli, Beethoven of Vienna). He performs with some of Switzerland’s finest orchestras (Chamber Orchestra Fribourg, Bern Symphony Orchestra) and he is the Swiss violinist Rachel Kolly d'Alba’s favored partner. Their two CDs—including the latest Lyrical Journey (Indésens, 2017)—have been praised by international critics. Both were nominated as best recording of the year at the International Classical Music Awards.
Christian Chamorel is the artistic director of the “Mont Musical,” a lied and chamber music festival in Le-Mont-sur-Lausanne whose strong themes appeal to a broad enthusiastic audience.
